Sundays

We know that it can often be a daunting prospect to consider entering church for the first time.  This may be the case whether you are visiting the area, newly moved to Chester and the surrounding area or just wanting to come along to church for the first time.

Whatever reason for your visit we want to give you the best possible welcome and hope that through the information on these pages you can gain a good insight into what to expect when you come along to Queen Street.

Our main meeting takes place on a Sunday morning commencing at 10:30am and finishing at around 12:15 to 12:30pm.

A warm welcome

When you arrive you will be greeted by our welcome team and if you have any questions or specific requirements such as access needs then please don't hesitate to ask them.  After that please sit wherever you feel most comfortable.  We have seating on the ground floor but also a balcony area upstairs.

Although the meeting starts at 10.30am many people arrive earlier and this is a great chance to meet people and chat.

What to expect

When our meeting begins it is usually introduced by one of the leaders of the church or one of the worship team leaders and we then move into a time of lively worship

At about 10.50am the young children go out to their own meeting called ARK.  In the main meeting this usually provides an opportunity for a time of more quiet and contemplative worship and occasionally taking communion together.

After this time of worship and before the speaker is introduced the leaders for the ARK groups go out and Créche facilities are provided for all babies / toddlers that wish to use them. Every other week at this time there is also an activity for high school ages - Exodus Xtra.

The speaker usually starts at about 11.20am and finishes at approximately midday.  The teaching is bible based and made applicable to living out our faith in the context of the society and culture that we live in.

The meeting often ends with a song and sometimes a time to respond to what has been shared.

Please don't rush off

Every week we have coffee and tea in the Community Hall after the meeting.  This is a great time to make friends and meet people so please stay and enjoy this time of fellowship.  Most months we also have a Church Lunch so please come to that when it is on even if you don't have any food with you.

Would you like to get involved?

If you have been attending Queen Street for some time and would like to consider getting involved with helping out with coffee and teas or being on the welcome team then we would love to hear from you. To find out more please speak to Mike Meynell or alternatively speak to any of the welcome or leadership team and they will direct you to the right person to speak to.
